Love is in the air, or so people said and keep talking about since the beginning of this month. Well, how can they ignore the day of love when almost every single person worldwide planing and preparing what to do and where to go on the Valentine’s day with their couple or even what Valentine’s gift will they give to their beloved one. Meanwhile, I picked up some great Valentine artworks in designs as the V-present for you guys. There are special Valentine desktop wallpaper I made, awesome inspiring artworks, nice looking ecards with Valentine’s theme that you could send to your boyfriend/girlfriend, some inspiring and fun Valentine’s products, and of course…. some Valentine’s free resources as well. Photography Vs Graphic Design

Being a part of graphic design community and get involved with the creative mind and creations within it is enjoyable. The more creative artworks I see, the more blurry and difficult for me to differentiate one artwork to another. But when my friends and I were discussing about Frespiration! contents and artwork category, some of us disagree to include Photography category to the lists. They believe that photography is not part of graphic design, but part of cinematography, while others believe the opposite. This makes me think twice whether photography could be categorized under graphic design or not.

Design Concepts: Review and Get Reviewed!

Every designers are taught to think about the concept first before creating any designs. Although some designers get inspired for the concept along when creating the design itself. The point is, you always need a concept to support your design and build it at the same time. As a designer, I try my best to apply a strong concept behind my designs, either for my clients, contests, or even for my personal artwork. But to judge or review my own artwork, I would say they’re great. This is why I wish I could share my concept and get some feedback about them from other designers.

Begin to Make Website for Designer

For most Print Graphic Designer, design and create a website would be a challenging task to do. As much as we enjoy ourselves working on the artwork and layout for it, those principles on print designs won’t aesthetically pleasing as it is for the print designs. As a print graphic designer, it was quite confusing for me when I was being critiqued by my client for the web page I did for his company. I found that even though he isn’t a designer, he knows the real function of the web page and the customer’s vision flow when they are browsing the web. I searched more resources about them. And yes, even though it’s basically part of graphic design, web design has its own rules. From the illustration, color scheme, and typography, it’s all what we’ve been familiar with in print design, but in web design, pay more attention to the effects (ie. gradients or shadows) as well.

Behind The Artwork of Yasser Rizky

Stefan Sagmeister, one of top world’s graphic designer open Sagmeister Inc’s Experimental Outcamp in Ubud, Bali in2009. He grabbed only 3 interns (USA, Canada, and Indonesia). One of them, Yasser Rizky from Indonesia. After 3 months of experience to learn the other side of design, he was offered by the Versus design magazine in Indonesia to fill a spread on it. In this article he described the benefits he has gained from his experience for being an intern and worked with Stefan. Unfortunately this article is written in Bahasa Indonesia, so you might not understand the article, but like the old say, a picture worths thousand words.
