Account Pin Privacy Policy
The privacy policy for Account Pin, the Chrome extension that opens Google Workspace links under the account you choose.
Last updated: August 19, 2026
Account Pin is a Chrome extension that redirects Google Workspace links so they open under an account you choose. It has no servers, no analytics, and no third-party services of any kind.
What the extension stores
Everything below is stored by Chrome, on your own device or in your own Google account's Chrome Sync. None of it is transmitted to the developer or to anyone else.
| Data | Where | Why | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| The email address you type into the settings popup | chrome.storage.sync (falls back to chrome.storage.local when sync is unavailable) | It is written into the URL as the authuser parameter so Google opens the link under that account | Until you change or clear it, or uninstall the extension |
| Which Google domains you have switched on | Same as above | To know which links to act on | Same as above |
The Google account index (/u/0/, /u/1/, …) observed for your chosen account | chrome.storage.session | To avoid an unnecessary redirect on every subsequent link | Discarded when Chrome closes |
An email address is personal data, which is why this policy exists. It is used only to build the URL, and it never leaves your browser.
What the extension reads
To decide whether a link needs redirecting, the extension is notified of top-level navigations to these hosts, and only these hosts:
docs.google.com, sheets.google.com, slides.google.com, drive.google.com,
calendar.google.com, forms.google.com, meet.google.com
It inspects the URL, decides whether to rewrite it, and discards it. URLs are not logged, stored, or transmitted. The extension has no access to any other website, and it does not read, inject into, or modify page content anywhere: there are no content scripts.
What the extension does not do
- No data is sent to the developer or any third party.
- No servers, no network requests, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking.
- Nothing is sold or shared. Nothing is used for creditworthiness or lending.
- Your Google account credentials are never accessed. The extension has no ability to sign in, sign out, or change your Google session. It only edits the URL before the page loads.
Chrome Sync
If Chrome Sync is enabled, your settings, including the email address, synchronise across your signed-in Chrome profiles through Google's own infrastructure, under Google's privacy policy, not the developer's. Disable Chrome Sync for extensions, and the settings fall back to local-only storage.
Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored. You can also clear the email at any time from the settings popup.
Changes
Any change to this policy will be published at this URL alongside a new extension version.
