Punctual Terms of Service
The terms of service for Punctual, the free, open-source macOS menu-bar meeting app from Chykalophia.
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Effective date: October 1, 2026
These terms cover your use of Punctual, a free macOS app published by Chykalophia Group, LLC ("Chykalophia", "we"). By downloading or using Punctual, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The software license
Punctual is open-source software, licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. That license governs your rights to use, copy, modify and distribute the source code and the app, and nothing in these terms takes away any right it gives you. Where these terms and the Apache License disagree about the software itself, the Apache License wins.
These terms add the practical points that apply when you download and use the copy of Punctual we distribute.
2. Free, with no account
Punctual is free. There is no account, no subscription, and no payment. We may change, improve, or stop distributing the app at any time.
3. Built on MeetingBar
Punctual is a derivative of MeetingBar, created by Andrii Leitsius and the MeetingBar contributors and licensed under the Apache License 2.0. Punctual is a separate app maintained by Chykalophia. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the MeetingBar project or its author, and any problems in Punctual are ours to fix.
4. Your calendars and other services
Punctual works with services you already use: the macOS Calendar and Reminders apps, Google Calendar if you connect it, Apple Maps if you turn on location suggestions, and the meeting services whose links you open (such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet).
- Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
- Punctual is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple, Google, Microsoft, Zoom, or any other service it works with.
- You are responsible for having the right to access the calendars you connect.
- Changes you make through Punctual's event editor are saved to your calendar like any other edit. Check important changes in your calendar app.
How Punctual handles your data is described in the Punctual Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
Use Punctual lawfully. Do not use it to access calendars or accounts you are not authorized to use, and do not misuse the Google or other APIs it connects to.
6. Name and logo
The Apache License covers the software, not names or logos. "Punctual" and the Punctual logo identify Chykalophia's version of the app. If you distribute a modified version, give it a different name and logo so people can tell the two apart.
7. No warranty
Punctual is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not promise that Punctual will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will never miss, delay, or misreport a meeting or reminder. Do not rely on it as your only way of keeping appointments that matter.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Chykalophia will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities (including missed meetings), arising from your use of or inability to use Punctual. Because Punctual is free, Chykalophia's total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to zero US dollars, except where the law does not allow that limit.
Some places do not allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date above. Continuing to use Punctual after an update means you accept the new terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
